分子口腔病理学
口腔癌が浸潤・転移する過程では種々の遺伝子異常が起こります。しかしながら、口腔癌における遺伝子異常の多くはがんの進展に伴い付随的に生じたパッセンジャー変異であり、口腔癌の発生や進展に必須なドライバー変異を引き起こす遺伝子はよく分かっていません。当研究室では、口腔癌の分子機構を解明すべく病理学と分子生物学を融合させた研究を行っています。
臨床面では、鹿児島大学病院の病理部門として顎口腔や唾液腺領域の病理診断を行っています。医学部の病理学分野とも密に連携しており、口腔病理専門医、細胞診専門歯科医を取得しやすい環境を構築しています。私たちとともに、実践的な外科病理学の知識に裏付けられた分子生物学研究が行える科学者を目指しましょう。
