鹿児島大学呼吸器内科は2010年6月に開講した新しい教室です。肺炎をはじめとする呼吸器感染症、肺癌、気管支喘息、慢性閉塞性肺疾患、びまん性肺疾患、呼吸不全などの診療・教育・研究を担当する「呼吸器に特化した内科」ですが、アレルギー、日和見感染症、膠原病などの全身疾患に伴う肺疾患も診療範囲としていますので、全身を診ることをモットーにしています。さらに、社会的・心理的な視点からも質の高い医療を提供することを心がけています。積極的に研究を進めて、的確な分析力と合理的な判断力を持ち合わせた臨床医を育てていきます。
